About This Product
The torque head is adjusted in height with a lead screw turned by a drive wheel, so that the vane can be lowered into the specimen. A single phase motor drives a worm gear that turns the upper end of a calibrated torsion spring, and the vane shaft passes through the hollow upper shaft to a resettable pointer on a dial graduated in degrees. The dial reading multiplied by the spring factor gives the torque. A soil sample container is supplied, and a sampling tube of 38 mm internal diameter and 150 mm length can also be used as the container.
