Didactic Lab manufactures and supplies medical utensils in austenitic stainless steel and polypropylene, from kidney basins and bowls to dressing and instrument trays. The stainless steel items use 18 to 20% chromium and 8 to 10% nickel with a smooth surface, and the polypropylene basins, bowls, thermometer jar and measuring jug are autoclavable.

How to choose

• Choose stainless steel or polypropylene: kidney basins come in polypropylene at about 475ml or stainless steel at 800 to 850ml, and round bowls in stainless steel at 550 - 650 ml or polypropylene at about 6 - 8 litres.
• For instruments and dressings, the Instrument Tray Stainless Steel measures 310 x 195 x 60mm with a cover, while the Dressing Tray Stainless Steel is an open 300 x 200 x 30mm seamless tray with rounded corners.
• For liquids, the Measuring Jug 1 litre has embossed graduations every 50ml, the Plastic Bottle 1 litre With Screw Cap is listed for chlorine and iodine solutions, and the Plastic Wash Bottle 250ml has a screw closure and riser tube.
• Do not use the stainless steel trays to hold a chlorine solution, as the texts note this may damage the steel; a plastic container is advised instead.
